Genetic Data Processing Terms (Raw DNA Upload)
By uploading your raw DNA file, you give your explicit consent for AxonGain to process your genetic data as described below.
1) Data We Collect
Raw genetic data (Genome Data). The unmodified raw text file you upload from a third-party provider (e.g., 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage).
Limited metadata. Your user ID, upload time and date, IP address, and the provider you select.
2) How We Use Your Data
We use your data only to generate and deliver your requested report.
Secure upload and storage.
- Files are transmitted to Amazon S3 over encrypted HTTPS.
- Files are encrypted at rest using AWS server-side encryption (AES-256).
- Raw and generated files are configured to automatically expire and be deleted within 24 hours via S3 lifecycle rules.
Automated processing.
- An automated AWS Lambda function reads your uploaded file, extracts relevant SNPs, compares them against our curated reference tables, and generates your personalized PDF report.
- No human reviews your raw DNA file as part of standard processing.
Secure delivery.
- Your report is stored in a private S3 location accessible only to your authenticated account and the processing service.
- You receive a time-limited, presigned download link (valid for 60 minutes) to retrieve your report.
Deletion.
- Raw uploads and generated outputs are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
- You may withdraw consent at any time to request deletion sooner (see Section 3).
3) Your Rights and Controls
Access. You can download your PDF report during the retention period and, where available, your uploaded file before it is deleted.
Withdraw consent / delete data. You can withdraw consent and request deletion by selecting Account → Consent Status → “Withdraw Consent & Delete Data.”
Rectification. You can update inaccurate account details in your WordPress profile.
Erasure of remaining records. If you want removal of any remaining records we may retain (e.g., consent logs required for compliance), you can contact us to request deletion where legally permissible.
4) Consent Record
We record: your “I agree” confirmation, the date/time, IP address, and the version of these terms you accepted.
If we make material changes to these terms, you will be asked to accept the updated version before uploading new files.
5) Security and Confidentiality
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).
- Access controls restricting file access to (i) you, when authenticated, and (ii) the secure processing environment.
- Audit logging of upload, processing, and deletion events (e.g., via AWS CloudWatch).
6) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the service or report.
7) No Medical Advice
The report is provided for educational and informational purposes only and is not medical advice. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
Always seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional regarding any medical questions. Your reliance on the report is at your own risk.
By proceeding with an upload, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Genetic Data Processing Terms.
